Plakkie Women's Betty's (Black and Pink)
All our Plakkie styles are named in honour of amazing South African beaches. We thought it only fitting that our women’s Plakkie styles be named after beaches with female names.
Betty’s Bay is a small coastal South African town about 100 km from Cape Town. It was named after Betty Youlden, daughter of the first developer of the area Arthur Youlden. The town was a whaling station from 1912 well into the 1930s. We’re happy to say today Betty’s Bay is devoted instead to conservation - it is home to a sanctuary for African Penguins.
